Mark Abramovski is a Basel-based composer, bass player, and improviser. Mark's recent pieces explore the effects of coherence and incoherence on form, material, and process. His pieces have been performed in Switzerland, Spain, Italy, USA, and Israel by numerous ensembles including members of Ictus ensemble, Jack quartet, ICE, and ensemble Suono Giallo. As an improviser, Mark has collaborated with many creative musicians including Ben Eidson, Isaac Dubow, Rotem Eylam, Caleb Duval, Michael Larooca, Grant Beale, Lemuel Marc, Noah Mark, Tony Malaby, Kris Davis, Francisco Mela, Anat Fort, and Albert Beger.
Mark is currently pursuing his Masters degree in composition at Hochschule Fur Musik Basel where he studies with Michel Roth and Florian Vogt. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston where he studied with Efstratios Minakakis, Davide Ianni, and Joe Morris.
